Bios

Gadi Eisenkot. Born 1960 in Tiberias to immigrants from Morocco. Commanded the Golani Brigade and Northern Command; IDF Chief of Staff 2015–19. His son Gal was killed in Gaza in December 2023, at 25. JTA: he would be Israel's first Mizrahi prime minister.
